Vande Mataram

Happy Republic Day folks! I have been working on this composition for some time now and today is the most auspicious day to unveil it – for the song brings forth the feeling of unity, calmness and the gift of a rich heritage. Vande Mataram (literally - "I bow to thee, Mother") was written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. The song's first two verses were officially given the status of The National Song of the Republic of India . Inspired by A.R. Rahman's "Vande Matarram - Revival", this composition is my humble attempt at rendering this beautiful song with my background score. Please listen to it and share it on your wall, with your friends and with people who love music. String N' Leather

Composed this over a couple of days. This is my first track that has Darbuka in it. It was a pleasure experimenting with the sounds. Hope you like it! Acoustica

I composed and recorded this instrumental piece recently. This piece contains only one instrument - the Acoustic Guitar . I recorded the different tracks (background, melody and chords) seperately using my guitar and mixed the tracks later. I wish to expand this (short) track into a full-length song soon. Hope you like this! Note: Download the original track to get better audio quality. Figure 1. Programming of parts of Sad But True by Metallica

Parts of Sad But True I programmed using Electri6ity and Guitar Rig 5 in FL Studio 10. Still need to work on rhythm sections to get the pull-offs, hammer-ons and bends properly.   Parts of Sad But True by nitinsgirish Please leave a comment, share this with your friends and post the link on your Facebook profile if you like this work. Preetiya Manashantiya (recording)

I recorded my voice for this Kannada song by Raghu Dixit while I was experimenting with my new MXL condenser microphone. I have used compressor, EQ and limiter for the final mix. The Making of Laya

The Idea Ideas for musical scores, songs or themes come to me randomly. Sometimes, I get inspired by a situation or works from other artists. The idea for this composition ( read full article and listen to the composition here ) came as a ‘need’ to compose a fusion track. I am still in the process of discovering my sound and experimenting is the only way to achieve it. Hence it makes perfect sense, at this point of time, to experiment with every genre of music under the sun! So fusion it is… this time! Every composition has a ‘hook’ that grabs the listeners’ attention. "A hook is a musical idea, often a short riff, passage, or phrase that is used in popular music to make a song appealing and to "catch the ear of the listener" - Wikipedia. In this composition, strangely though, I see two hooks (in my head). The first hook ‘came’ to me when I was experimenting with the samples in my new “Sounds of India” audio sample CD I recently bought. I was playing some tunes on India...

Laya

The idea behind this track was to create fusion music using Indian classical and western string instruments. I have used Saraswati veena, sitar and electric guitar in this track. The meaning of 'Laya' is 'fusion' or 'merging' in Sanskrit and rhythm in Indian classical music.
